How to Eat a Frog to Save a Marriage
Start early in the morning.
Identify a frog you want to eat.
Here are some suggestions:
- Compliment your spouse.
- Do something nice for your family.
- Do something you know will warm your spouse’s heart even if you don’t feel like it.
- Hug or kiss your spouse before one of you leaves the house.
- Make it through the morning without criticizing or complaining.
- Find something to be grateful for and give thanks for it.
- Do something nice.
- Do one thing good that you don’t want to do.
- Take one step to complete something you have been procrastinating.
Do You Feel Motivated?
If you don’t feel motivated, then you may need to motivate yourself.
- Does your marriage mean something to you?
- Is your marriage important to your children/
- Are your children important to you?
- Can you give up some convenience for the love of your family?
- Can you set a calendar entry or a reminder?
- Do you want to be happier in your marriage tomorrow? Next week? Next year? When you’re old?
- Do you want happy memories to look back on?
